Applying for a replacement Community licence or certificate of authorisation for the carriage of goods by road for hire or reward

If a permit or Community licence is no longer available or is illegible, you must apply to the competent authority for a replacement.

For commercial road haulage, you need a permit or, in the case of cross-border transport, a Community licence, which you will receive as a document.

You also need a copy of the permit or a certified copy of the Community licence for each vehicle.

You must have each document, copy or certified copy replaced if it is lost:

  • is lost
  • is stolen
  • becomes unusable, for example due to
    • Soiling
    • Water damage

When applying, you must provide credible evidence of the loss. If a copy has been stolen, you must report this to the police.

Your permit certificate or Community licence or the copies for a vehicle have been lost, stolen or are unusable/illegible.

Procedure

  • You submit an application for a replacement licence.
  • You must submit the application to the transport authority in your place of residence in writing or, if offered by the competent authority, as an online application.
  • The competent transport authority will check the documents and issue a replacement permit or replacement community licence.
